The idea for "How Old Are You" came to me during a journey on the Mangala Express from Delhi to Kozhikode. In my train compartment, there was a group of senior citizens who were on a trip from Kerala to Delhi. I had the opportunity to speak with them extensively until we reached our destination, and they were truly enjoying their retired life.
During our conversation, I realized that their tour agent had charged them a significant amount for the trip. When I pointed out that a trip to Delhi doesn't actually cost that much, their response was, "Son, we can't take risks. Besides, our children aren't willing to take us on such tours."
As I spoke more with them, I met a retired KSEB clerk who, at 62, was learning Bharatanatyam. I didn't see any of the frailties associated with old age in her. Their energy and enthusiasm, as they moved vibrantly around the train, gave me a new perspective. It was then that I started contemplating starting an initiative specifically for senior citizens.

I am a very active member of How Old Are You.Being a Senior citizen, I feel and enjoying the Group of Seniors, irrespective of cast, creed, and the geographically wherever they are.
I am coming from a village in Kerala, and I am the Convenor of Seniors Group, which is called YoungOldees, managing by a Reading room, and a Sports club.
We are all members of How Old Are You, so obliged to Mr. Shijin, though he is very young, and managing this Oldees group very well. He is very frequently communicating with each, and every one, enquiring their health, and other matters well.

HowOldAreYou എന്ന കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി ഷിജിൻ കോർഡിനേറ്റ് ചെയ്ത് വളരെ സന്തോഷകരമായാണ് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നത്. 55 വയസ്സിന് മുകളിലുള്ള ആൾക്കാർ അറുപത് അറുപത്തഞ്ച് വയസ്സുവരെയുമുള്ള ആൾക്കാർ അതിൽ ഉണ്ട്. വളരെ സ്നേഹത്തോടും സൗമ്യതയോടും സന്തോഷത്തോടും കൂടി ഒരു മീറ്റപ്പും നടന്നു. എല്ലാവരും ഒരു കുടുംബത്തിൽ പിറന്ന അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു സ്ഥാപനത്തിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ആൾക്കാരെ പോലെ തോന്നി.

ഹസ്ബൻ്റ് 2006 ൽ വിട പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനു ശേഷം ഞാൻ ജോലിയിൽ നിന്നും 2017 ൽ റിട്ടയർ ചെയ്തു. വീട്ടിലെ കാര്യമല്ലാതെ വേറെ ഒന്നും എനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. How old are you വിൽ Join ചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം ഞാൻ 67 വയസിൽ നിന്നും 40 ലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു. കാരണം ഒത്തിരി അറിവുകൾ ഫ്രണ്ട് ഷിപ്പുകൾ സമയം പോകുന്നത് അറിയുന്നില്ല.പുതിയ അറിവുകൾ പുതിയ സ്നേഹ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ എൻ്റെ ഗ്ലൂ മിയായ ജീവിതം മാറ്റി മറിച്ചു. ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ സന്തോഷവതിയാണ്.
